Closed Circuit TV (CCTV)
Areas can be alarmed, using long range movement sensors, infra red beams, fencing sensors, or even automatic video motion detection, (VMD), within the cameras themselves.
If a system is activated, the remote operator can call the police, call local keyholders, or even broadcast a warning message via loudspeaker. And if the police are called, it will receive a high priority response as a confirmed, visually-verified incident, rather than just another alarm going off.
Remote monitoring can also be used for other purposes, as well as security. Business owners and managers, away from site, can dial in and check customer levels in a shop, diners in a restaurant, or even the reading on a machine dial. You can turn on lights, or remotely operate gates, to allow access to an unmanned site for a delivery driver.
