Electronic Fence Protection
Putting a fence around his property was probably the first security device adopted by man. For many businesses and public assets, it is still the first line of defence. Unfortunately, most types of fencing offers little resistance to the determined intruder who is prepared to cut or climb it.
The answer can be to supplement the physical barrier with electronic fence protection, which can come in a number of forms, including;
- Passive infra red detection patterns or active infra red beams directed along the inside of the fence. If the beam is broken, an alarm is generated. Adjustments can be made for the presence of foxes and other potential false alarm threats.
- An audio sensing cable can be mounted on the fence itself, which can detect the sound of climbing or cutting, and ignore the sound of wind or other natural sources.
Longer sections of fencing can be divided into zones linked to graphical interfaces so security staff can immediately identify the location of a perimeter breech without having to patrol all areas.
Alarmed zones can be linked to associated CCTV cameras, either statics or pre-sets for pan/tilt/zoom cameras, so recordings can be made of incidents and genuine or false alarms may be verified without the need to physically visit the location.
We can advise on whether such devices are right for your application, and which type of alarm response is appropriate.
